I am an aspiring artist and animator who hopes to bring my imagination and creativity to life.
Born on October 31, 1999, I grew up in a Pakistani and Chinese-Jamaican family in South Florida and began drawing as young as I can remember. The idea of putting any image I had in my head onto paper has always been fascinating, and drawing from observation helped me improve my skills to create my ideas as close as my hands could take me.
One of my first inspirations when it came to art was the illustrator of the Junie B. Jones book series, Denise Brunkus. While admiring her drawings as a young child in elementary school, I grasped the concept of anatomy for the first time and I began to look at the illustrations in a different way: instead of being depictions of what is happening in the story, they became guidelines for me. Another inspiration was Walt Disney. From his animated films such as Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, the art styles caught my eye at a very young age.
At the age of 11, I began to take interest in animation. Starting with simple and short creations in Flipnote Studio for the Nintendo DSI, I practiced by animating myself talk and then progressed into short dancing animations. As time went by throughout middle and high school, I began to explore human anatomy and how people perform basic movement such as walking, running, spinning, crouching, and jumping. I also began to study the movement of hair and clothes. I expanded my drawing skills by drawing still life and portraits. My pencil drawing, “Flats,” was presented at the Women of the Visual Arts Inc. in 2018.
I attended Palm Beach State College after graduating Palm Beach Central High School in 2018 for my Associate in Arts and to pursue a degree in Graphic Design. There I studied fundamentals in design, colors, and third-dimensional figures with ceramics. I began to practice acrylic and watercolor painting as well as drawing digitally using multiple programs including Medibang, Ibis Paint X, and Clip Studio Paint. After attaining my Associates in Arts, I transferred to Florida Atlantic University for my Bachelor of Arts in 2021. My long interest in the field of animation led me to explore a career in it, so I switched my field of study towards film and new media and decided to pursue my degree in Multimedia Studies: Film, Video, and New Media. There, I studied figure drawing, 3D animation using Maya, photography, and stop-motion. I graduated in May 2024 and transferred to the University of Central Florida in 2025, majoring in Emerging Media to further pursue more knowledge in animation.
My main focus when it comes to creating art is centered around people. Almost every drawing or animated piece has a person being presented. I also like to add some fantasy elements in the mix, such as drawing mythical creatures such as fairies or mermaids. When it comes to photography, one of my favorite images to take is of nature with dreamy, magical tones, as if looking at a photo of a mystical forest. Vibrant and saturated colors are also a key element of my work.
